Babysitter's Training

Teaches Youth ages 11 and older the skills necessary to provide safe, responsible care for children when their parents or guardians are not present.

Heartsaver

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

BLS (Basic Life Support)

BLS is geared towards prehospital and in-facility hospital providers. Upon successful completion of any of our courses, students receive a course completion certification valid for two years.

  • High-quality chest compressions for adults, children, and infants

  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device and BVM
  • Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

ACLS is geared towards healthcare professionals who either have direct or participate in the management of cardiovascular arrest, other cardiovascular emergencies, or personnel in emergency response.

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and early use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • ACLS pharmacology
  • Management of ACS and stroke
  • Effective communication as a team leader or member of a resuscitation team
  • Rhythm recognition

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest.

  • Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest and begin CPR within 10 seconds
  • Apply team dynamics
  • Differentiate between respiratory distress and respiratory failure
  • Perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
  • Differentiate between compensated and decompensated shock
  • Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock
  • Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
  • Implement post-cardiac arrest management

Active Learning

Active Learning uses peer-to-peer learning where each person takes a turn simulating the role of an active lifesaver, a coach, and an observer.

By performing each role, and having 20% more hands-on training time, students have the opportunity to actively learn and provide feedback to their peers.
